Brazil Intends To Adopt A Volume Tax On Imports Of Footwear And Other Parts.

Barreto, deputy director of the Federal Taxation Administration of Brazil, said in January 4th that if the imported goods were found to have low quotations, the Brazil federal taxation administration would levy an import tax on the basis of the quantity of commodities, that is, the ad valorem tax should be replaced by the volume tax.

According to the method of calculating the quantity tax, it can be calculated according to the unit weight, volume and quantity.

The specific products are mainly footwear, plastic products, beverages, rubber, textile and clothing, toys, furniture, tools, timepieces, optical instruments, medical photographic equipment and so on.

According to the introduction, the above measures announced by the federal tax administration of Brazil should be put into effect, and the approval of Brazil Foreign Trade Committee is still needed.
