    On the morning of June 3, the national cotton market and the Brazilian cotton growers association signed a memorandum of understanding in Beijing. Hou Shunli, member of the Party group and deputy director of the Council of the all China Federation of supply and marketing cooperatives, Secretary of the Party committee and chairman of the China supply and marketing group, and Brazilian ambassador to China Paul?       At the signing ceremony, Hou Shunli spoke to the Brazilian ambassador to China Paul? Walai and the Pakistani team warmly welcomed their arrival, and introduced in detail the important role of supply and marketing cooperatives in China's agricultural and rural development, as well as the development process, business scale and core advantages of the national cotton trading market. He said that China and Brazil complement each other in resources, and Brazil will become China's second largest cotton importer in 2020, which is inseparable from the unremitting efforts of the Brazilian cotton growers association and the strong support of the Brazilian embassy in China. Through the signing of the memorandum of cooperation, the two sides reached a number of cooperation consensus in cotton international trade, investment promotion, information exchange and training, which is conducive to consolidating and deepening the bilateral cooperation relationship, establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism, and jointly playing a greater role in promoting the cotton trade between the two countries.
 
      Brazilian ambassador to China Paul? Waley said that deputy director Hou Shunli's attendance fully reflects the great importance that all China Federation of supply and marketing cooperatives attaches to the cooperation between the two sides and expresses his gratitude for this. Brazil's share of China's cotton import market increased rapidly, from less than 6% in 2017 to nearly 30% in 2020. It is hoped that in the future, Brazil will continue to work closely with China on cotton, and make Brazil the most important cotton supplier for China's sustainable development by realizing sustainable agricultural development and improving its competitiveness. In the future, the two sides will work together in cotton trade and investment, Conference cooperation, technical exchange, information training and quality control to jointly promote the healthy and stable development of China Pakistan cotton industry.
