General Situation Of Foreign Trade

According to the data released by the Argentina National Bureau of Statistics (INDEC), the total trade volume of Argentina between 2019 and November was US $105 billion 694 million, compared with the US $118 billion 11 million in the same period in 2018, and the trade surplus was 10.4%, the trade surplus was US $13 billion 710 million, and the deficit was 5 billion 121 million US dollars in the same period in 2018.

From 2019 to November, Argentina's trade deficit with major trading countries was as follows: China, the United States and Germany showed a trade deficit of 2 billion 186 million US dollars, 2 billion 145 million US dollars and 1 billion 732 million US dollars respectively, while Chile, Vietnam and India were 2 billion 266 million US dollars, 2 billion 74 million US dollars and 1 billion 230 million US dollars respectively, showing a favorable balance of trade.

In 2019, the total export volume of Argentina from 1 to November was 59 billion 702 million US dollars, up 5.8% from the same period in 2018, of which primary products grew 28.6%, farm and animal products grew 3.7%, fuel and energy grew 2.1%, but industrial products declined 6.5%. The main export country / regional trade organization is the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), accounting for 19.5% of total exports, 13.6% of the EU and 10.8% of China.

From 2019 to November, the total value of imports in Argentina was $45 billion 992 million, which was 25.3% lower than that in the same period in 2018. Imports of all categories showed a deficit, of which the largest decline was bus 56.4%, followed by 33.1% of fuel and lubricating oil, 31.5% of capital goods, 27% of consumer goods, 16.3% of components and appendages required for manufacturing capital goods, 15.6% of intermediate goods and 1 of 14.3%. The main importing countries / regional trade organizations are the MERCOSUR, accounting for 25% of total imports, 18.8% of China and 18.2% of the EU.
