It was learned that in 2015, the national entry exit inspection and quarantine institution inspected 6317 batches of imported cotton and 1 million 475 thousand and 300 tons, with a total value of 2 billion 675 million US dollars, a decrease of 33.20% compared with the 2014 batch, a 47.16% reduction in weight and a 54.84% reduction in the value of goods.

In 2015, the whole country imported cotton from 36 countries and regions all over the world, ranking according to the weight of imported cotton.

India, Australia, Uzbekistan and Brazil rank the top five.

The overall quality of the imported cotton in 2015 was not optimistic. The rate of disqualification of the horse cloned value was lower than that of the same period last year. The grade, length and unqualified rate of strength were higher than that in the same period of last year.

The four main indicators of cotton evaluation were grade, length, micron value and fiber strength. The average non conformity rates were 14.72%, 6.65%, 3.19% and 4.84% respectively.

The white paper shows that the main problems of imported cotton discovered in 2015 are:

First, there are multiple producing areas and lots of batches of cotton and are sold in batches, resulting in difficulty in ensuring consistency and demotion.

Two, the quality difference between the sample and the actual arrival cotton is too large.

Three, the cotton packing is not standardized, resulting in the pollution of cotton bags and the decline of quality.

Four, the phenomenon of short weight is serious, and some batches are short packed.

Five, there are mixed waste cotton, foreign fiber, mildew, harden and so on.

The six is that a few overseas suppliers are not honest and cheat.
