Investigation On The Development Of Sericulture Labor And Sericulture Industry In Gao Si Town, Lezhi County, Sichuan

To understand the current situation of rural labor force structure and the income of sericulture households in raising silkworms,

Based on the scientific basis for future development, Lezhi County conducted a thorough investigation of three sericulture producing good, medium and poor villages in the village of pear Village (sericulture key village), broken river village and Lao Jie village in Gao Si town.

The findings are:

(1) the intensity of labor force in the household farm is very strong, which seriously restricts the stable development of sericulture industry.

The three villages have 1169 households, 3737 people, 20 to 60 years old, 2363 of the total workforce, 639 of the household farm workers (including old, weak and disabled), only 27.04%.

The structure of domestic labor in the household is: 17 people aged between 20 and 30 account for only 2.6%; 135 people aged 31 to 40 account for 21%; 41 years old 50 years old 215; 215 years old - the age of the year old people occupy.

The status quo is: the labor force in the household farm is gradually aging, seriously losing the new labor force, and undertaking all the land cultivation.

The labor intensity is very large, which seriously restricts the stable development of high density labor sericulture industry.

(two) sericultural households are decreasing year by year, and silkworms are being concentrated to large families.

According to the survey: in the past three years, the sericultural households in these three villages have been shrinking every year at a rate of about 10%. In 2012, the number of silkworm rearing families was 242, accounting for 20.7% of the total number of households.

Pear Bay Village is only 30%.

The three villages were involved in 319 sericulture labor force (60 of them accounted for nearly 30%). In 2012, 986 of them were rearing silkworms, 976 thousand yuan for income cocoons, 3200 yuan for cocoons, and 35 for households in the broken river village. The average per capita income of silkworms was 5000 yuan, and sericulture in the key areas of non sericulture was concentrated in large households.

Sericultural households are decreasing year by year, and silkworm rearing has been concentrated on large families every year, which is a major trend of sericulture industry in rural areas.

(three) the prospect of sericulture in rural areas should be focused on cultivating large silkworms.

Labor force in rural areas has reached more than 70%, and the concentration of rural population to urban areas has become an irreversible trend. The lack of labor force is the main contradiction in the stable development of sericulture industry.

Sericultural households are decreasing year by year, and mulberry resources are idle. There are no mulberry silkworms everywhere.

Therefore, we should solve the problem of effective utilization of the existing idle mulberry resources, rely on science and technology to explore and save labor and raise silkworms, improve the efficiency of silkworm breeding, cultivate a batch of large scale farmers with labor and sericultural facilities and have positive enthusiasm, and attract some migrant workers to go back to their hometown and engage in large-scale silkworm breeding. This is the focus of future sericulture work.

At present, there are nearly 30 thousand silkworms in Lezhi county. If we can breed more than 10 silkworms (20 or more of 2 thousand households) in 10 thousand families, we can stabilize about 150 thousand years of silkworm rearing.
