Bangladesh Demands Conditional Support For The EU'S Treatment Of Pakistan'S Generalized Preferential Tariff (GSP+).

The EU first proposed in November 30, 2010, hoping for the time being.

Tariffs on important textile and garment products imported from Pakistan for a period of 2 years will help Pakistan restore the damage suffered in the summer of 2010.

The EU tax exemption treatment includes 75 important textile and clothing products exported from Pakistan to the EU.

The revised version of the proposed tariff exemption for Pakistan textile products has dealt with the concerns of some member states. Member states have expressed different positions. Brazil is the only country to publicly express its opposition. Peru, Bangladesh and Indonesia think it will take a little more time before they decide whether to agree with the EU proposal.


According to the news, Bangladesh will not object.

Bangladesh clothing exporters asked the government to put pressure on the European Union. The important products of Bangladesh's manufacturing industry, including some garments, should not be included in the customs free list.


The India government has recently given Bangladesh products the right to export to the textiles and clothing market in India, and therefore, under pressure from India, the Bangladesh government's opposition to the case has weakened.
