Guangxi Cocoon Industry Needs Urgent Solution

Sericulture industry

It is one of the traditional industries in Guangxi, but its annual output is heavily dependent on the changes in weather conditions, and the income of sericultural farmers is rather unstable.

Coupled with the continued drought in recent years, the development of the entire industry is facing a situation of waste.

Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Commerce

market

Di Jiankai, director of the operation and consumption promotion division and director of the National Cocoon and silk office, said, "China

Cocoon silk

The industry is in a period of great strategic opportunities and faces severe challenges.

Cocoons are at great risk.

Although the "shelf life" of silk is five years or even longer, from the input and output of agriculture, the annual output of fertilizer for mulberry mulberry garden is about 600~800 yuan, pesticide silkworm medicine is 400 yuan, silkworm eggs and wastage silkworms are about 600 yuan, and about 100~120 days (including mulberry garden management and protection, leaf harvesting, silkworm feeding, disinfection, cleaning, selling cocoons and Xia Dongfa), with an average yield of 150 kg of fresh cocoons, this year, the price of Guangxi is 37 yuan per kilogram, which is about 5550 yuan gross income, which is equivalent to an artificial income of only 35~40 yuan per day.

In addition, there is a great risk of silkworm breeding. Abnormal climate and outbreak of silkworm diseases will affect output.

It is also common for silkworms to be destroyed in Guangxi.

Farmers do not want to raise silkworms in reason. After all, they are not raising silkworms all the year round. In a few months, the real income is too low, which will affect the enthusiasm of farmers to produce silkworm cocoons.

Statistics show that nearly 80% of the world's cocoon silk production is concentrated in China, but since China joined the WTO for ten years, the silk industry of sericulture industry has grown steadily but slowly.

According to customs statistics, China's silk exports amounted to US $1 billion 857 million in the whole year of 2001, while in the first 8 months of 2011, the export volume of China's silk products was US $2 billion 390 million, and its growth in the past ten years was only 28.7%.

Regarding this, Di Jiankai, director of the Department of marketing and consumption promotion of the Ministry of Commerce and director of the state cocoon and silk office, pointed out that the lack of multinational groups and independent brands with international influence, the insufficient development of the domestic silk market and the new international export market and the weak ability to resist risks at home and abroad are the main reasons for the rapid development of China's cocoon and silk industry.

In addition, the lack of a mature industrial chain seriously restricts the development of sericulture industry and some ancillary industries in China. It is urgent to enhance the added value of products and realize the development of industrialization.

Facing many challenges

Recently, the National Cocoon and silk office announced the "12th Five-Year development plan for cocoon and silk industry" at the Symposium on Cocoon and silk industry development held in Hangzhou.

The outline defines five major objectives, namely, the total economic development, brand cultivation, structural adjustment, technological progress and energy conservation and emission reduction.

"12th Five-Year" is an important period for the pformation of China's business development mode and the pformation of a trading power to a trading power. It is also a critical period for the development of the cocoon and silk industry.

Di Jiankai, director of the market operation and consumption promotion division of the Ministry of Commerce and director of the National Cocoon and silk office, analyzed the situation faced by the silk industry. He said: "the cocoon and silk industry in China is in a promising period of great strategic opportunities, and it is also facing severe challenges."

Although the state has put the cocoon industry's industrialization development on the agenda, how to implement it is still a mystery.

Since China's accession to the WTO, the export market expansion of silk products has made some achievements. On the basis of consolidating the traditional international markets such as the United States, Japan, India and Italy, it has increased the development of emerging markets such as Pakistan, Turkey, Russia and Romania.

However, the international silk products giants are working hard and the rising of various business costs make the Chinese silk industry, which is at the low end level, face unprecedented difficulties.

It is understood that due to the low added value of conventional silk products, and single varieties and pparent prices, manufacturers in order to compete for customers, there has been a phenomenon of mutual price pressure.

The disorderly competition in the domestic market has made foreign merchants take advantage of their profits.

Under the background of the weak consumption in the international market, the ups and downs of raw material prices and the rise of labor costs are just like the two mountains, which make most of the silk products enterprises with low end products of OEM produce breathless.

Some small enterprises that lack enough funds are holding up the "severe winter". They have declared bankruptcy and bankruptcy. Some large enterprises are also struggling to mediate in the slit of small profits and no profits.

Cocoon storm response

According to the insiders, at present, the domestic cocoon agriculture foundation is still not solid, the key technology and equipment development of silk industry needs to be improved, the development of silk brand is lagging behind, the development of domestic silk market and international emerging export market is insufficient, the ability to resist domestic and foreign market risks is weak, and the ability and level of market operation regulation need to be improved.

Insiders said that, to Guangxi, the development of Guangxi silkworm cocoons industry should first increase support for variety breeding and extension.

Varieties are the core driving force for the development of the industry. At present, the industrialization development of mulberry as the center has already started. It is suggested to carry out joint research of industry, University and research, establish a regional experimental station for sericultural varieties, and gradually form a variety system suitable for different uses and requirements, and promote industrial development.

Second, we should increase support for the construction of small silkworm breeding farm.

The co production of small silkworm, which has the same function as the concentrated vegetable nursery, not only solves the technical problems of silkworm rearing, but also more importantly, has become the carrier of rural social technology services and the improvement of farmers' organizational level.

It is suggested that the small silkworm breeding farm be included in the breeding and breeding system construction to support the breakthrough in the key technology of sericulture development.

Third, we can increase support for diversified development of sericultural products.

The single product is the bottleneck problem that restricts the development of sericulture industry. It is suggested to support the development of the three major products of mulberry leaves, fruits and branches, and gradually build a diversified product system to promote farmers' income and enhance industrial competitiveness.

Fourth, we should increase support for the standardization of sericultural park construction.

The silkworm and mulberry industry has competitive advantages in crops, and can promote the coordinated development of grain and grain. It is suggested that the silkworm mulberry should be incorporated into the standard garden of horticultural crops to create the support range and promote the development of the industry.

Finally, efforts should be made to strengthen the management of sericulture industry.

Sericulture industry is not only an income increasing industry for farmers, but also an ecological agriculture industry. It is also a national cultural industry.

It is suggested that the Ministry of agriculture should intensify its management and make sound, action and momentum to do well in industrial development.
