French Textile And Apparel Sales Decline In Summer

July 26th is the end of the summer sale of French stores. Besides the continuous growth of online shopping, the sales volume of stores has declined.

According to the French fashion Research Institute, excluding E-commerce

Long-range

Sales, sales of textiles and clothing decreased by 6% compared with the same period in 2010, even though the value of goods and the level of last year's year-on-year were flat. This trend has not improved.

The sale of retailers has declined due to the rise in prices.

According to industry analysis, this year

Price reduction

There are three main reasons for the disappointing performance. The climate, the economic situation and the "off sale" sale system.

First of all, this year's warm spring climate led consumers to buy their summer clothes without waiting for a reduction in price. In June, the sales of brand stores increased by 7.4% over the same period last year, but the difference is that the price reduction period began in June 22nd and last year was 30.

Secondly, the purchasing power of the French is decreasing. They prefer to spend more properly than fill the wardrobe.

Finally, the government allowed stores to sell two times a year (winter and summer) for the two time, but they could also be blamed for the "non regular" discount sale system. Most businessmen objected.

They believe that the system makes consumers lose their pparency.

The shopping mall is patronized by international tourists and its stronger

purchasing power

As well as the source of tourists and climate and other reasons, its revenue grew by 8% to 9% compared with last year.

E-commerce continued to grow strongly. Sales in the first 4 weeks increased by 19% compared with the same period last year. During the price cut period, the number of new online shoppers increased by about 3 million.

At present, France accounts for 70% of Internet households, and the annual growth rate of online shopping is 10%.
