It is an immature decision for the government to announce the release of cotton exports. They expressed concern that the decision made by the government would threaten the survival of the domestic cotton textile industry when the textile industry just started to improve.

A. Sakthivel, President of the Association (TEA), said at a news conference that India will release cotton exports from October 1st, which will bring disaster to the entire textile industry. Especially the export enterprises of Rupp's knitwear will suffer heavy losses. Last year (2009-10) cotton export was not restricted, and the price of cotton yarn rose, which severely hit Tirup's knitting export enterprises.

Sakthivel said he had sent representatives to the Anand Sharma to ask him to re examine the situation and not to approve the free export of cotton in October 1st. In addition, cotton exports had to be released after January 15th.

At the same time, the South India Textile Mills Association (SIMA) has expressed concern that the association said more than 500 small textile factories and the corresponding production capacity in the value chain will be forced to close because of the lack of high-quality cotton.

J. Thulasidharan, the president of the association, said they had to wait for new cotton to go public.

Insiders say the government has approved 8 million 500 thousand export packages for 2009-10 years.

However, the initial export estimate of the Cotton Advisory Committee is 5 million 500 thousand packs.

This led to the shortage of high quality cotton at the end of the year.
