Cotton Growing In The United States Is NormalBut Low Temperature Leads To Slow Progress.

Although the overall planting progress in the United States is normal in April 13th, the low temperature and rainy weather next week may lead to cotton farmers in the southeast and delta areas unable to engage in field work.

According to the US Department of agriculture, the United States expects to grow 9 million 380 thousand acres of cotton in 2008-09. In the week ending April 13th, the growth rate reached 10%, exceeding the progress of last year, and the average annual progress was 5.

Key Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama are below normal years because of low temperatures, uneven soil moisture and poor seeding.

But next week, until Thursday, the temperature in the southeastern region may be low. Until Thursday, there is generally no rain in the southeastern region, but there may be sporadic showers on Friday and Saturday, and most likely scattered showers in Alabama, North Carolina and Virginia.
